Caught this flathead catfish while crappie fishing a few years back. Weighed 29 pounds and hit a bass assassin curly shad 1/8th ounce plastic grub in 20 feet of water over creek channel at Perry Lake Kansas. Thought I was snagged until I felt the darn thing start moving. This was around last part of December and pretty chilly out . Wife wont say which of us is better looking. HA! .....RL

BobH, I see why your are confused which one is RL. Look at both pictures and focus on the teeth in both pictures. The teeth tends to make them look a lot alike. Maybe that is why they claim dogs often look like their owners, Possible same thing applies to us fishermen.
Nice catfish !!! HOw big were the MANY crappie you caught that day?
Worries me some ??

After much consideration I posted the picture was worried it might cause great envy. Besides we need to liven up and stir some interest in our fishing forum. Now as to the size of the crappie we caught that day it happened to probably be the best day Ive had on a winter crappie trip. Will keep you in suspense for a while but they were diffinitely bigger than the teeth, besides you guys cant figure out whos who. Wife wont say but says we look about the same age. Figure if joed ever views this he will not be undecided and say something like........"catfish".......RL

unable to open your picture? clicked on red X nothing, window opened with many selections, do not know what to click on? R or Left also. Anyways funny you asked about fishing, went out Sun(first) 2hrs, we got 1 28" northern and a snake and 2 small walleyes(tip ups) gigged only to get usual small pumpkins and gils as usual, lake stunted on the gils.(good eating though if you like cleaning.) using Shiners. No crappies YET! Have about 5' inches of ice so far. Last year end, just got thru ice without an extender. Problem need few days to recover from the cold before trying to get going again. Leg & back shot.
