what size feed(ID) is required for gas range. Noticed on gas fire place, rather than pipe a flex line was used? are you familiar with this type installation? also would assume the fittings must be installed on the job sight, as there is no slack. If familiar, is there much to this? Looks like a garden hose, sure more to it then that(content of tubing)Any recommendations here! pros & cons. Thank you

Used to it was normal to install threaded rigid black pipe 1/2" in size to a gas stove. Today they have a listed and labeled yellow plastic gas line that you may use instead of the black pipe. However many jurisdictions require you to attend seminars and become licensed to use this yellow plastiv gas flexible gas line. Check with your local AHJ for any local rules that may apply.
If you install black rigid gas pipe then you need ot use fitting on the job site to adapt from the threaded pipe to a flexible appliance brass gas line the just screws onto the adapated fitting and then screws to your gas stove in the same manner. This flexible appliance gas line is required between the house gas line and the applianced.
Hope this helps
