Hello Don! Happy New Year to you & your family. Well have couple questions as opposed to suggestions. First wondering if a spelling error correction can be installed as in E/Mail(poss added cost)? Also have noticed some of those replying in business, curious if an area could be for them to advertise if they have necessary credential's. Just couple thought's. TY

At the moment I don't know of any modification to this forum software that includes a spelling sheck on posts, I will check on that though, but on the other hand don't want to do anything that will cause any additional slow downs of the site. You can although perhaps too much of a pain, is to type in a word processor that you may have with spell check then copy and paste into the forum.

Tell me more what you have in mind as far as advertising for persons that contribute significatly in replys in our forums. I did for example post a link on the main hoemwiringandmore site and at the top of the applicance forum to the applicance aid site, jeff1 is the main contributor in the applicance forum and his web site has a lot of info on applicance repair.

Claify what you have in mind more.

Don

My thought's here were only for those in business(as it sounds). To possibly gain some work from the sight if need be. Since they're willing to answer questions. Probably a long shot, no real ideas just a thought. TY4 reply!

As far as banners, and ads on the forums main displays, listing, we have from the start stayed away from ads, we do post links to certain sites, including 'the appliance aid' site that jeff1 runs, because it has a wealth of useful info on it.

We do allow users to create a signature that is displayed at the bottom of every post that they make, so anyone seeing the post will also see that signatiure, which can cantain alink to their personal website, could even likely link to an email address if they so wished also within that signature.

If we post an ad for instance , for some users that may be interepted as would a kind of indorsement to the kind of expertise and workmanship that person does. This is something for legal reasons that we want to be careful of, leting the user create a signature doesn't carry the same weight (endorsement) from the owners of the site as it is contained only within the users post.
