I want to remove the baseboard heaters in my house because I no longer need them. I wanted to know how do I kill the live wire after I remove the heaters?

Hi ladyluxury:
I would start with removing the wires from the fuse, or breaker. Then with a piece of tape identify the wires as to what they were used for. But do not remove them from the panel. They could come in handy in the future.
If you keep them in the walls, then cut in a (rough-in-box,) and again tag the wires with tape. And install a blank plate, or pull the cables up into the attic, or down in the crawl, and again install a box, with a blank cover.

Baseboard heaters are not supposed to have receptacles over the heaters. If you are removing the heaters and if this wire is a 12/2wGrnd Romex. You could look to where the thermostat is that controlled that or those heaters and if the thermostat was on the heater then you could install a remodel box and install a receptacle in place of the baseboard heater that my now be needed to serve that area. If you install that receptacle using that heater wire then you must go to the panel and change the breaker to a single pole 120 volt breaker and move the white wire to the neutral bar. You would then have a receptacle where the heater was.
You can do the same thing if you thermostat was wall mounted by doing the same as above but going to the thermostat you would need to remove the thermostat and wirenut the wires black to black and white to white and bare to bare and then use a blanck plate to close up that thermostat box.
Just an idea that coincides with what Aphares was saying. Just remembered that often times receptacles are needed on that portion of the wall but the baseboard heater forbid one from being there. Now that receptacle can be there without the heater being there.
Just an afterthought
