Will be closing cottage for winter (no heat) and during summer bought a new freezer. Some say OK to shut off all power and others say leave power on with setting on low to keep freezer operting all winter.
Which is best????

No reason to leave it on. All the refrig/freezers at the appliance store are off, why leave it on?

I owned a cabin shut down every winter for 20 years and sold the cabin with the same freezer and refrigerator still in the cabin still working. Shut the freezer and refrig down each year for the winter with no problems. Now that I remember back never had either unit worked on the entire time either.

I agree with HandyRon,

Good Luck
