Wall Oven installation

I am installing a wall oven. Off of the oven, I have 2 insulated wires (Red and Black)one ground (white) and one bare copper wire. The white and bare are crimped together. I have large gauge aluminum wire to run to the breaker box (Two black, one marked insulated and one bare wire) Should I crimp the insulated ground wire and the bare ground together with the ovens insulated and bare ground?

When you buy a new oven this oven is adaptable to be a replacement of an existing oven with a three wire cable. A black, white, and bare conductor in the existing cable. This is why you found your white and bare wire crimped together. This is allowed only when replacing an existing oven that has a three wire SE type cable. No other exceptions. If you have a Romex cable that is black, white and bare as an existing branch circuit to an existing oven then you are forbidden by the NEC to use this three wire Romex cable. Only an SE cable that has SE or service entrance cable written on the side of that cable can be used as existing using the bare as a neutral and a grounding conductor as a dual porpuse conductor.

If you have a new installation as you are discribing installing a new branch circuit cable, then you must install a 4 wire cable with a black, red, white, and bare conductor in that Romex cable. No exceptions on new installations. The bare and white neutral must be separated in the new oven when being a new installation using a newly installed branch circuit.

Look at your installation instructions. It will tell you the minimum conductor and breaker size required to serve that new oven installation. Be sure to meet or exceed that minimum conductor ampacity rating for your branch circuit.
