1) Does humidity affect A/C operation? For example, if the thermostat is set at 26 degrees and the actual in-house temp is 24 degrees, will the A/C turn on if the humidity makes it feel like 30 degrees?

2) Say the t-stat is set for 20 and the current temp is 30, will the A/C run NON-STOP until it reaches the set temp (even if it takes hours), or will it cycle every once in a while?

1) Does humidity affect A/C operation? For example, if the thermostat is set at 26 degrees and the actual in-house temp is 24 degrees, will the A/C turn on if the humidity makes it feel like 30 degrees? No, the thermostat works on temperature only. No consideration is given to humidity. Some commercial equipment does contain enthalpy controllers, which take humidity into account.

2) Say the t-stat is set for 20 and the current temp is 30, will the A/C run NON-STOP until it reaches the set temp (even if it takes hours), or will it cycle every once in a while? No, the equipment will run non-stop until the temperature setting is satisfied. In fact, properly sized cooling equipment will run almost 24 hours a day during the hottest few days of the cooling season.
