GA. - moved a 10 yr old site built home 2 miles, in excellant condition. Inspectors say must be rewired but cannot produce any written county ordinence. Have no problem with bringing up to code but have had home tested by master electrician, load test etc, etc. with no luck. Really need to rewire? Need manufacuterer specs on romx including stretching/pulling of wire.

It is definite that you're home that was moved from one location to another location will not meed current NEC Code standards. While you have a home that is only 10 years old and under normal circumstances you would be considered as existing if that wiring and the home had not been touched, you are sitting in a gray area. I have experienced this situation while making an inspection in my jurisdiction.

There are some avenues that you should be able to approach such as filing an appeal through the legislative part of your government. In my area that would be the County Commissioners. If that does not work then you may issue enter a civil suit in the legal systems in you courts. Bad news is you are talking about dealing in politics. In politics often times right does not make it through to the citizen. You might want to ask your inspector about the appeals process. This thought alone sometimes changes the Inspector's ruling because he does not want to mess with the hassles or does not want to risk his job if the the bosses disagree with his ruling. Sometimes this will put you on the bad side of an Inspector that will then get more stringent in his rulings with you concerning this project and possibly future projects.

If you decide that you want to rewire you home meeting the current codes, most likely you will only have to run new branch circuits in your kitchen and bathroom areas. Possibly changing light fixtures meeting clearances in your clothes closets. Those areas seem to be the areas that were changed in the NEC of 10 years ago and today's current NEC version. Click on the three links below and read then compare what your read to what you have. This should tell you what is required today compared to what you're wiring is like now.
