I am getting a boat load of emails from many different false email adresses propogated unknowingly by one or more infested computers with my email address on their email list on their computer.

This virus is a worm that hit again on the 19th of this month on the net. It is a worm that infects a computer, Then sends out mass emails creating false email addresses saying anything from you have been accepted to emial failure to thank you on the emails. Last night I received over 170 of these emails with attachments. You can not be infected to my knowledge unless you open an attachement. Problem is that attachement may come from the news programs to being from a friend unknowingly infected from a **** picture or video to a normal family picture also infected from a friend.

Please I would appreciate it if everyone will run their updated antivirus programs or click start then find and type in looking for a file named WINPPR32. If your find program locates that file either in an exe or dat file then you are infected.

I am not receiving this boat load of emails from my personal email account but I am receiving a boat load of these virus attachments from my homewiringandmore email account leading me to believe someone using our site is unknowingly infected. Try running your updated antivirus program or hit find on your start button and search for the above file name.

This worm evidently is an old worm recently hitting the net hard on the 19th of this month again. Boy ain't we having fun?

Hope this helps

Update, Something happened. About 4 Pm the Email virus mass emailing to me stopped. Just to let everyone know. With my number of contacts by email I tend to experience this crap more than normal people but it seems to have been cured this time. If someone discovered having been infected then this should let you know you caught it and corrected it. I no longer am receiving those thank you and approved and movie emails with the virus link. Just before it stopped I had received about 300 of those emails.

All seems to be cured now.

Thanks

I think it pretty essential these days to have an anti-virus program on your computer, and always up-to-date, thuis will catch most viruses before they do their damage.

I think I get more junk mail than legit mail, which seems to have the tendency to happen especially when you have domain names listed with references to your email address, search engine submissions which can also generate junk mail (especially with FAA submissions) , I also get a few virus carrying emails every week, my anti-virus programs checks both incoming and outgoing email. Most of the junk mail is just deleted without bothering to read it.

I also have received the junk emails that Wgoodrich mentioned.

Having several websites, I do receive a lot of nonsense emails.

Sometimes you can try to unsubsribe to some of the junk mail that you somehow got on their list, othertimes replying to one just lets them know the address actually exists.
