Wow!! 9 lbs plus that is a hog! Here is Kansas that doesnt happen very often. Our State record is 13 something caught in Wilson Resevoir. My largest is a little over 7 lbs. All walleye here have to be over 18" to be legal with a daily limit of 5 per man.

What do you guys use for bait this time of year?

Here the fish are on the flats in 20 ft. to 15ft. (our lakes are rarely over 50 feet at the deepest point) and we drift nightcrawlers and troll crank baits. Sometimes little joes and minnows or chubs.

Fishing off Port Colborne. We were using worm harnesses on jet divers and dipsy divers. Nine pounds is large but not all that uncommon in Lake Erie. Was out again Wednesday in My boat. Zero fish caught.

Port Colborne is in Ontario. It is the northern end of the Welland canal. I was Saturday agind and got one 9 pounder.

Check out this map and bouy 45142. I was fishing about 1.5 miles north east of it.
