I now have a project to prepare for since Dennis is now a catagory 4 hurricane; putting up the shutters. Dennis in off south coast of Cuba and Gulf of Mexico with sustained max winds at 135 MPH and higher in gusts per NHC.

Good luck. (heard it was cat 1 this morning)

Do you guys throw everything outdoors that isnt bolted down into your pool in your area? My brother-in-law lives a hour from Orlando and had to dodge 3 of them last year.. Just some minor damage to a old roof. Got luckey.

When I had a pool at the previous house, only the stuff that won't rust (rust stains the sides and bottom) and it sinks. Right now it's 145 MPH. We are in the 'cone' but on the edge so we are looking only at tropical force winds 35-45 mph IF it does not change from the latest track (2PM FRI). Since I live on the coast (not on the beach :) the forecast is for up to 18 foot sea with flooding, but I'm lucky to have my house at 40 feet elevation. If the storm veers just 50 miles to the east, then we get hurricane force and beyond. A big problem is tornadoes.

Same coast, west, but Naples is 2.5 hours to my south. I'm getting rain bands with gusting winds. One gust was 58 mph in the area per the TV. Also we had tornado damage this a.m. about 10 miles to my south. In-between the banding the weather is just overcast with light winds. Bands of rain/winds are moving thru the area at an incredible 45 mph per the local TV. We have another tornadeo warning effect at present with funnel cloud sighted locally. 2,800 without power in county at present.
