I have an Anderson Barrows plastic 1/4" od union that is dripping. How do I take it apart? I saw one on the Lowe's website and read that they come apart easily. Thanks fer any help!!

Is it a brass union for use on plastic tubing? If it has three hex shaped surface; you put a wrench on the center hex and unscrew either one of the outer hexs.
Some tube unions just push together. Usually, you push in the part of the fitting where the tube enters while pulling out on the tube. Some brands they can be a tremendous pain to disassemble. I didn't think Andersen made these kind of unions.

Hey Phil, the union is made of plastic and appears to also have tee counter parts. These fittings are used on a reverse osmoisis water filter system. I tried to push in the tubing but it would not budge.
Thanks fer the reply!

The type that I have seen have an o ring in them for sealing and metal fingers to lock the tubing in place.
Push on the tubing and then pull out the "ring" that the tubing goes through to release it and hold it out as you pull out on the tubing.
If that is not the rright sequence you push on the ring and hold it while pulling out.
One used one once and don't remember which way they go, but that is the idea.

Well, I bought a replacement coupler and the instructions said to push the collar of fitting back and pull on hose. Yep, it was that easy. Project completed. The replacement was a Watts PL-3000, BTW.
Thanks fer the replies !
