I have a customer that brought in a Jr. 50 Motorcycle cause he could not get it to run. His claim is that it did not have any spark.
I came to find that it did indeed had spark. I installed a new plug and it started in the second kick.......easy fix, right?
I ran the bike for 10-15 minutes, shut it down and was not able to restart it. Spark was fine. Then I moved to the carb. Took it apart, cleaned it, reset the float level and reinstalled. The bike started.........good fixed, ?
After the bike got warm it would not start again. When I was running it I noticed that it would rev up more when the choke was partially closed. (Too Lean)
My guess now is that this piece does not have enough compression which would not create a drop in pressure in the chamber to move the fuel to "fire" it. However, when I pull the plug it appears wet.......If I shoot carb cleaner in the hole to test fire it will not run when warm....
Rings?......Does this unit have reeds?........I do not have a lot of experience with this type of unit, any suggestions? It does not appear that it has a spark arrester like a chain saws that like to fill full of carbon when folks mix gas with too much oil.
Thanks for your time.
