Hi all, every Summer my toilet bowl has a lower water level than during other seasons. Only in the Summer! Sometimes it takes more than one flush to clear the bowl. Any ideas what is going on and why this only happening in the Summer?
Thanks very much!!

I'm still composing a theory that has to due with the tilt of the earth, sun spots, gravity, and tidal patterns. Maybe Dunbar will come around and give us the real answer. For now a bird's nest/bee's nest in the vent line does sound like a reasonable starting place.

Well, no nests, nice echo though....HELLOOOOOO!
I did notice the water dept. is working a couple of streets up from mine. They have the whole street closed off and I can't tell if they are working on the main or the sewer or what.
Dunbar, come out come out wherever your are!!

The only logical explanation I can come up with is evaporation, or it could be due to more windy situations in the summertime that can "rock" the trap water in the toilet.
If you have to do annual drain cleaning for your drain system, this might correlate to the cause too.
Another really possible cause is less water pressure in summer months due to higher usage in the area, therefore the fill tube off of the fill valve doesn't replenish as much water into the overflow tube. That would be my best guess.
Might have dirt in the fill valve due to the water dept. working on the water lines and this might of caused the problem as well. compute_1 compute_1 compute_1 compute_1

I took the tank lid off and watched the operations as they took place and all looks rather well. I then directed my attention to the bowl and watched as the water slooooowly drained away till just enough was left to cover the hole at the bottom. I flushed again and bubbles came up........
Right now I am considering a new Johnny Flusher, but I guess I first want to know why I'm losing water out of the bowl??
Thanks fer the reply Dunbar!
