I have a Dexter door knob that I'd like to replace. But there are no bolts from the inside house side to remove. I was able to find a slot in the top of the neck of the door knob in which I pushed a small screwdriver into and was able to remove the knob itself, but that's the furthest I got. Any idea of how to get the rest of it out of the door?

I am not familar with that brand, but typically the estruchion (trim ring behind the knob) and be removed and expose the screws.
There might be a flat spot for a screw driver to remove it, just a friction fit. Or maybe a twist to unlock.

Did you check the other side? :D
Remove the knob and carefully try to pry the trim ring off. THey could be hidden under there.

Thanks for the advice gentleman. Mr. T., the knob was off but I really didn't think of trying to remove the trim ring. I looked at it closely and noticed a little slit where a very small screw driver would fit. I popped it off and there were the screws. Thanks again.

Glad that I and Mr. Unregistered who posted the same thing just seconds before me (I need a faster connection) could help.

At least 'dremmel' asked for advice before proceeding with the sledge.... Ever work with someone, who when they hit a snag on how to get something done they reach for a wreaking bar? Or they are so impatient that they just go into 'brute force' mode? My pet peeve! :)

...a wrecking bar nearby my work until I could afford more tools tailored for the job I was working on.
