DWV Noise

The ABS DWV pipes in the house I'm remodeling for my In-Law's are quite noisy. Is there any proven way to reduce the noise from ABS plumbing short of tearing it out and replacing it with cast iron?

Open the walls and insulate the cavities with insulation or double sheet the walls with drywall.
