I just bought a boat w/a 70hp. johnson 1998 and I have had a problem with it. Everytime I would hit someones wake the motor would bog down and when I got back into it the motor would not perform to the max.I assumed I was sucking air in a fitting for the fuel.About 2 weeks ago I hit a wake from another boat and it bogged down then reved back up a few times and just quit running so I pulled off the main river pulled the cover and noticed a fuel line into the choke/booster was split so i tried to cut the line and replace it but I broke the plastic fitting where the line connects so I had to get a new one now I can get it to fire over but will not run/sometimes it wont fire at all its almost like the spark is intermittant have checked it today and im getting very little spark to bottom cylinder and none to the top two anybody have any suggestions of where the problem may lay?stator,power pack,coils?
