hello, i am removing a window from the rear of my house and installing an entry door in its place to lead into the florida room.

the window was about 28 inches wide and the thinnest door i can find is 30" which means a 31-1/2" rough opening.

In order to fit this door in, i would need to remove one of the studs on the side of the window and replace it roughly an inch or 2 further away.

is 30"'s the smallest they make entry doors?

or do they make 28" which may fit perfect?

Even if you do find a 28" door, you will probably still have to replace your header. Most exterior doors are 32" I would suggest that size. If you dont have any 36" doors in your house, and there is a straight shot (via at least 36" openings) to the main areas of your house from this room, you may want to even consider a 36" door. Makes moving things in/out much much easier.

Just dont be asking me to help you move then :D

Good luck with it. I got 2 doors to replace this spring, and a large picture window to replace with a door and a window (reusing the header..hopefully).
