I just recieved a 1974 Sears piston type compressor. It needs new oils rings and compression rings. However the rings are no longer available froms sears parts website. I was hoping there was someone here that could guide me to a source for these rings.
This compressor is a Sears model 106.173780, 2 HP, Twin Cylinder air compressor. Other than two cylinders instead of one cylinder, it looks like a typical belt driven piston air compressor mounted on a rolling 20 gallon tank.
Oil rings were part number PX-22
Compression rings were part number PX-11
Would I need new oil ring expanders for a rebuild? Those were part number PX-21. Sorry, never changed rings on a piston compressor yet so I am asking for feedback.
Does anyone know who made this compressor for sears and if the rings might be available from that line?

Thanks for any help

Maybe if you took a pic of the compressor head and posted it here, someone might recognize the OEM. That long ago, I'm reasonably sure that it was U.S. made. Worth a try...
