:) hello from Auckland NZ where winter has just begun
I have a CWT-200 PSU in an older MEC AB(abit I think) PH50705C computer :D though I picked this from a rubbish bin it is all in good condition and I would like to at least get into the Bios for a look .
But I took the wires off to clean the PSU and computer and though I drew a diagram I don't remember which wire goes back onto which computer power button pins .
The PSU has a socket for a plug for the power plug on the back of the PSU and a 3 pin socket below the plug socket .
Behind the plug socket at the top inside the PSU from the rear view there are 2 wires , a black wire(right) and a white wire(left) .
Behind the 3 pin socket is a blue wire(right) and a green wire(left) .
The black and white wires lead directly to the computer power switch which has 4 pins arranged like this on the part of the computer switch inside the computer case :
power button(outside of case)
__
_______l_l________
computer face plate
__________
4 pins l l
\ / switch
the 4 wires connect to each of the 4 power button pins but I don't understand what each of the pins is so I don't know which wire to put on which pin .
Can you tell me where to put each wire so I can power on the computer .
experimenting is becoming a wee bit hazardous :o

Greetings from Ohio (USA) where it seems like it is winter most of the year!
Look on the power supply. THere often is a label with your power switch diagram.
I dont think there is a standard for power switch wire colors. I just looked at a older computer and I have a black, white, brown, and blue.
good luck.. dont guess, you may damage something (or trip a circuit breaker)

EDITED : this thread is edited and this post has the correct information in it . The first post is not accurate so if anyone wants to offer advice please disregard the first post for obvious reasons . This is an AT PSU .
I will describe the PSU wiring diagram .
From the left is a brown wire to a circle then a line going up at 45 degrees below where the angle line ends there is another cicle , then a black wire joined to this circle , and below that there is an identical drawing , the first wire being blue and the last wire white .
There is a line of dashes from the middle of the top 45 degree line to the middle of the bottom 45 degree line .
Description of the PSU sockets and wires
Both sockets on the PSU have the earth pin at the bottom of the sockets as though the sockets were upside down .
The top socket is a 3 hole socket for a 3 pin plug and the bottom socket has 3 pins in it for a power cable .
the -5V rail is the white wire
the -12V rail is the blue wire ,
there is a +5V rail and a +12V rail but neither of these 2 wires goes to the computer power switch .
the ground wire is the black wire
From the rear of the PSU looking down on the open PSU the top sockets left connection has the black wire connected to it and the right connection has the white wire connected to it .
The bottom sockets left connection has the blue wire connected to it and the bottom sockets right connection has the brown wire connected to it and the green earth wires are both connected to a standoff on the bottom of the PSU , and I'm not sure if there should be a washer between the the wires and the standoff . There is a washer and looking at the wear on it it appears to have come from between the wires and the standoff .
Description of the computer power switch connections and wires .
The rear of the computer power switch where the pins on the switch are looks like this :
front nearest the button
l l
\ / those pins aren't accurate the way they appear here but they are in line , both l l are nearest the front of the case behind the power button and / and \ are directly behind each l .
the wires which go onto the power switch are , black white brown and blue , but which wire goes on which power button connection ?

All the above information in this post is correct .

...small in diameter compared to the power wires coming in from the back of the computer? They may be low level signals used to remotely switch on the supply from the primary side with little or no danger to the user. Let us know.

edited :o after a closer look at the connection and trying a little logic I guessed either the screw or the washer was going to touch the standoff . Thankyou
yep , thats right , i was given the wiring code on WimsBios Forum .
now I need to know where the insulating washer came from that I forgot to back somewhere in the PSU .
Can someone tell me , I left it out and blew a house circuit fuse .
