April 18, 2005. Central PA Safety Day Approaching.
Pennsylvania One Call System, Inc. is sponsoring a premier event to promote work place safety which includes damage prevention and prudent excavation techniques. Anyone concerned with damage prevention should attend. This is a no cost high quality way to learn about safety.
There is something for everyone including Pennsylvania Emergency Management Agency's emergency vehicles, a medical evacuation helicopter and Harrisburg's first responder rescue truck. You can spend time with OSHA, Labor and Industry and PEMA safety experts.
Demonstrations include underground facility locating, ground penetrating radar, soft excavation technology, trench shoring, trench rescue, confined space entry, gas and electrical, work place safety, and first aid. You'll be able to test your skill in a backhoe rodeo, take a close look at a Sprint Series Race Car and test your blood pressure before riding in a hot air balloon!
There will be sessions all day for those that want to sit down in an air-conditioned auditorium to hear speakers talk about Pre-construction and Pre-design Meetings, Before Notifying – Prepare!, How to Make the Process of Notifying Easier, Reduce your Risk – Understanding Locating, Keeping it Real with OSHA, What Should You Do in an Emergency?
