What is considered to be a very good perk rate?

I don't kow what "very good" is, but the acceptable range is between 15 minutes per inch and 105 minutes per inch, but varies from state to state. Any faster than 15mpi and you'll contaminate the groundwater, and any slower than 105mpi and you'll have trouble with your system backing up and stinking. My conclusion (mathematical only) would be that 60 mpi would be ideal. Don't give too much merit to whatever your perk test revealed. If it was acceptable with the state or the soils engineer, fine. I guarantee you that you can do the exact same perk test in the same holes next month and get completely different numbers. You can perk 20 feet to the left or right and get completely different numbers.
