Is there a way to download many or all of the posted threads en masse?

...file drop down menu in the upper left hand corner of the Internet Explorer window and select 'Save As'. A dialogue window will appear asking you where to save the files. Select a folder and click 'Save', then go to the folder you saved the files in and click on the Internet Explorer icon that has the name of the file you just saved. The browser will open with the thread you just saved and you will notice in the address window appears the location of the saved files on your computer, not the IP address from where you just saved it. Also, note there is a folder with the same name as that with the browser icon. This contains all the images and should you wish to rename the browser icon, make certain you rename the folder the same name as you give the icon. Whether this method saves multiple pages is doubtful, but you can also save them in the same manner and name them something different like "xxxxxx_pg_2.htm". Note: You must choose 'Web Page Complete' when given the choices of name and type of file to 'Save As'.

The "Save As" only saves a single web page. Each thread may be comprised of more than one page and you would need to individually save each page of each thread.

You can save an archived thread instead this way but there would be no attachments included.

See http://www.selfhelpforums.com/archive/index.php/.

Select under 'Thread Tools'
select 'show printable version'

this should display the whole thread.

now in the browser menu
select 'file' then 'save as'

Adobe Acrobat's web capture feature might work. Will download all pages of site (if requested) to single PDF file, with working links.

Let me see if I can cook up an example...

I am able to do it, but can't post due to large filesize...sorry. I could download the whole site and send it to you, but I'm not sure the admins would appreciate it too much.

borrow one of the backup tapes from the admins! (may have to bug their webhost for it though)

Admins> Being a php message board, its probably a SQL database. Is there any way to export a portion of the database into some type of file? (files since it will be HUGE) You may have load it into a spreadsheet to read it, because it will be just a list of columns. The spreadsheet will format it into something readable. Ive done this before (but not a SQL database), and it is very possible for the every day person (no offense to anybody) to do this....

I am not about to release a backup file of the entire database, and the average user would not be able to decipter it anyway. These backups also have user names and encoded passwords in them, as well as style formating/ layout, privaet messages and they way the forum features operate plus the complete backup is quite large in file size.

There are programs or even online resources that allow you to spider and save an entire website.
