Water Purification (Lake)

I an pumping lake water to a cottage and installed a rainfresh filter ( 5 micron act. carbon ) and a 5 gal/min UV sterilizer from rainfresh also . Trouble is my last water test came out the same as the one I did before the equip. was installed. 0 on ecoli , but 86 on coloform . Is it possible I didn't flush the system long enough or do I need to run bleach through the system to sterilize the pipes ?

I don't think that carbon does anything to reduce fecal coliform. UV does some, if properly sized. 5gal/min sounds a little on the small side to me, but I'm obviously not looking at the cottage. My preference has always been to add chlorine injection to the system to eliminate fecal coliform.
