Kohler Pro Command 25

We have a Kohler 25 horse engine on an Exmark commerical mower that we are having problems with. The engine runs fine most of the day, then suddenly it will start sputtering and will shut down. It will recrank, sometimes running a few minutes or hours before it does it again. The dealers have been no help, replacing the on/off switch, only for the problem to still exist. They want to keep the mower for 2-3 weeks until they can get to it. Unfortuately, this mower is our livelyhood and sitting in a repair shop for several weeks doesn't put groceries on the table. We live in the "Super Bowl City" but can't get a mower fixed. Any Ideas?

Check fuel filter,fuel lines and fuel tank for dirt.Had mower that did same thing,it had piece of plastic in tank.It would close off fuel at times and engine would stop.
