I posted before about a fixture fire that baked the plaster. My ceiling is an inch thick. I tore out a 12X16 hole screwed in a piece of sheet rock used plaster of paris and tape on the 4 sides to bring the level up to 1/8 short. My question is do I wait till the plaster of paris is cured totally or would I get better adhesion if I use the featherlite joint compound while the plaster of paris is still slightly wet?

The plaster will have shrinkage. You should wait for next layer or finish until the plaster is well cured.
Hope this helps

Thanks for the help. this is the first time I have tried such a large area. I will wait a few days and finish with joint compound.
