I just had a new alarm installed into my car, Lexus LS 400, 1993. Is there a way to disarm the factory alarm and only have my new alarm activated?

Easiest way is to not use the factory keyless. Leave it unlocked/disarmed and it should stay that way. Keep your transmitters in a safe place. Your new alarm shoudl have or support its own keyless entry system.

You can also find and unplug the factory alarm controller. Your installer can normally do this if they havent already. However, some car alarms require the controller to be operating or the starter kill will activate. If this is the case and you unplug your controller, you car will not start again untill its reconnected and programmed/reset. I see many people make this mistake in trying to disable a unwanted aftermarket alarm that was on the car they just bought. They usualy have to have their car towed to a alarm shop.
