My Electric Windows dont work on my 93 skyline gts

I pulled the drivers control box apart and found that the plaster bits that push the relays down are melted so i've replacing the relays with switches but need to know how to wire switches its a toggle switch with three positions momentary on/off/Momentary on and has 6 pins underneath
Obvously pushing the switch oneway will wind window up and the other down

The pin layout is
- - momentary on
- - off
- - momentary on

Hope this is enough info

your help is most appreciated

Thanks

You would be better served going to a used parts dealer or to a factory outlet and buy the proper parts needed to repair you window switch system.

If you must use alternative switches as replacements then power coming in should go to the center post. the wire for clockwise of hte motor should be on the up position on spade the down would go to the down position on button. This switch would have to be momentary contact only.

A couple of items to consider. The other doors and control buttons are interconnected to that main switch group at the drivers door. Power must continue on to those buttons then up and down wires must be interconnected with the master control switch at the drivers door.

Often times the driver's door window is a continuous stay on while down travel but interuptable by the master switch as window travels down.

The above explaination is why I advse you to buy the proper replacement part.

In any case cut away any damaged wires back to undamaged wire then extend as needed. Also use proper connections or you will be working on it again in near future.

Good Luck

What do you mean by Proper Connections do you mean soldering the wires or connecting the wires with plugs?

Butte splices, terminal ends as needed. Don't make a mess by trying to solder and tape where teminal ends are designed to be used.

Taking any short cuts is an invite to be doing it again. Do it right the first time using the proper parts and connections.

Good Luck

Thanks for your help Wgoodrich

I'm defenitely sure this method will work
Ive started to drawing up on paper a wire diagram for my switches by tracing the paths of the original relay switch to each pin in the plug Going by what i put on paper and i double checked it it looks correct.

Do you know what Solder i should use at the moment i have 5 Core Solder self-fluxing for electrical connections do you reckon that would do or is there a better solder that would be best used for this project?

Thanks
