How many recessed fixtures can be put on 1 15 amp circuit? (75 watt bulbs)

Resi or commercial? Any dimmers?

residential, yes dimmers. A dimmer is only rated for 600 watts?

If the fixture is rated for a max of 75 watts, then you can have 24 of them on one 15A circuit. If the fixture can take larger lamps, then you need to base the limit on that value instead.

I'm curious why jacksnap asked about dimmers. You do want to limit the load connected to a given dimmer, and I wouldn't push it. If you buy 600W dimmers, I'd try to keep it loaded to 400 or 500W max. If you go with a 1000W dimmer, then limit yourself to say 700 or 800 watts. I think two dimmers in a double gang box is better than one large one in a single gang box for a given load of lighting (it should cool better).

Mark, thanks for answering after stevo's responses.I'm curious why jacksnap asked about dimmers. You do want to limit the load connected to a given dimmer,
Mark, that is why I asked (the load). Good advice that you should not push the dimmer and advice of watts per size of dimmer. My interpretation is that you cannot exceed the wattage of the dimmer, so theorectically you could go the dimmer limit but not over.
Since these are going on a dimmer anyway, you could reduce the wattage of the installed fixtures which would allow stevo to mount more fixtures. The dimmer will just have to run at a higher setting. Plus, lower wattage bulbs mean less Kwh billed, if that is a concern.
