In my cape, i am putting baffles in the sloped walls above the knee walls.
should i run the baffles all the way from the bottom of slope to above top of ceiling, or can i just cut a piece off and use it at the top.
thanks.

I wouldn't bother with baffles then. Try to find R-13 foil faced. The R-13 will fit in a 2"x4", so the 2"x6" won't be a problem. This way, you still maintain an 1" or 2" behind the fiberglass. Staple the flange on the inside of the rafters though, not the face. The reason for the foil is that you will gain an additional r-2, so long as you maintain the approx. 1/2 gap between the foil face and the back of the drywall. (R-13 will really =R-15, if you install it properly) This is why you staple it between reafters, not on the face. Be sure to staple it between the rafters as though it were 2"x4". Dont recess it to where you block the airflow. The space needed behind the drywall and in front of the foil will be sufficient. You only need a small gap behind the drywall to realize the reflective quality that gives you the additional R-2.
Good luck.
