Leave gas in or not

Is it better to leave the gas tank in a lawn mower full during the winter or empty it? The fuel of course contains stabilizer!

If you keep the tank completely full (with stabilizer) I don't think it matters either way. I've done it that way for years with my motorcycle with no problems. Just make sure to run the engine to get the stabilizer through the carb. If you're paranoid come spring drain the tank and put fresh gas in it. The old gas can go in your car with no problems.

An empty gas tank will corrode is metal or oxidize coating is plastic if not kept full. Depend on how long it is stored whether to drain and refill or not considering the gas to be used next season.
