During the last week or so, access to the forum portion of the site has been intermittant for me.
It had been working well for months and even after the domain reshuffling things continued to be OK.
It seems that the main site http://www.selfhelpandmore.com is always accessable but the 'Forums' section is not. If you try to access the Forums button or use http://www.selfhelpandmore.com/forums directly, you may or may not get the 'server not found' error.
Has anyone else noticed this in the last 7-10 days?
On an unrelated note, it seems that the main forum display page doesn't always show the index of latest posts, but continues to show the second most recent post on occasion.

I have noticed that problem lately of the posts not updating the main index.
I havn't had any problems connecting to the forum area (or, I should say, any more problems than normal). I live sort of in the wilderness and I'm pretty sure my ISP is connecting me to the net with morse code.

I have also noticed the posting problem. Also, l have been experiencing server problems but attributed it to Don working on the site at the same time.

Yesterday and today I have been working on the main page of self help and more, trying to add some language to get the right keyword density for the search engines, have submitted 3 pages of the site to the search (1100 search engines / directories, etc)(I now have submission software to do this) , I have only really tired to optimize the main page so far, I have to go thru every page of the site and do the same, and also make about a 100 to 200 or so doorway pages that are designed to be optimized and strong in one keyword for each doorway page. Its enough to keep me busy for several weeks or months. Won't know the results of the recent search engine submissions for 2 to 6 weeks before the site gets spidered.
Not sure if it slows things down when I am using ftp and running optimation scans / analizing software. I often leave the ftp program and optimization software running as well as frontpage at the same time so I can add words to the page, upload, rerun the optimization check to get the keyword density numbers, perhaps change or add something else to the page until I see the keyword density I am aiming for. I need a 3 to 5 % keyword density to improve search engine ranking results. I have around 3 % keyword density on certain keywords now, 5 % would be ideal without going over as that would get you labelled as spam and the search engine spider may skip indexing the site. That is what I will be using doorway pages for as additional entry pages that will be strong in one keyword per page with the right density specs.
I also usually log into the forums as selfhelpadmin and run a backup of the database every couple of days or so.
The only difference between before and now is that the single site is using a single ip address instead of 2ips.
We are on a virtual server as well as a virtual my sql server, in other words we are not the only site on each of these servers, I would love to see us on a dedicated server, but we simply can't finance it right now.
I will lay off on the site for the next day or two, keep me up to date. The real test will be over the coming months when we hope to double / triple or more our visitors. I will send a note to the host if there is a partern of problems, and perhaps they can look into it.
