Im thinking of getting one or two pygmy goats to keep brush down in three acres of woods and weeds.....should I be aware of any special needs of these animals...or are they pretty hardy? thanks

Sorry missed this one. Goats pigmy and all have each breeds different personality likes and dislikes. Goats are very well resistive to almost anything but wolves or other preds. Goats tend to eat anything including weeds and bark maybe a tin can or two depending on breed and size. Problem with almost all goats is keeping them inside the fence and off you car, road, etc. These little buggers whether full sized or pigmy climb like GOATS ! Go figure.

There are even goats that you can get that will fight off neighbors dogs, wolves etc. and are often left with sheep to protect from coyotes and the like. These type goats are very territorial and protective of what they claim as theirs. I have seen in this county where Coyotes and domestic dogs were a problem where a couple of these big goats roam the yard just like a pet dog. Curious but where these goats were that I saw protecting from neighbor's dogs etc. also had rather nice flower beds and they were not damaged. Suspect they had hidden fence collars on them to keep them in or out of where they wanted but they roamed loose around the yard with no visual restraints.

Many types of goats for many different purposes.

Hope this is not to late to help
