I combed over your site and found it extremely usefull! Thank you.

One thing I need to figure out is, I just got a large 57" rear projection TV. There is a quit large radio tower about 300 yards away. I have both cable and sattelite on my TV.

The picture is not at its best. I would think switching to Satellite I would get crisp digital picture. I spoke to my neighboors and other people that live in the same area and they have the same problem.

So, I was wondering what I can do to filter out all the junk signals that come threw?..or maybe Im just hooped?.

If you would please let me know, I would be forever in your debt!.

Thank you for taking time,

Ben

Hi Ben

There is a couple I of things, I would like you to answer to start.

1st what satellite provider are you with ?
What is the signal level are you getting from the bird ?
Where is the dish mounted, what size dish, where is the radio tower in relation to where the dish is and the direction it is pointed.

Next if you are able can you draw a wiring diagram of how exactly you have the satellite and cablevision connections wired and upload that picture to this forum. (you must be a registered member in order to attach and upload a pic)
include everything you have (such as a vcr, or game consoles, switches, etc.) I want to see exacty how everything is hooked. Also indicate what kind of cabling you are using such as rg 6 or rg 59, indicate what is used were. Are there any slitters in use and where are they.

Let me know if you can do this.

Ben,

Take a look at this article:

http://www.audioholics.com/techtips/audioprinciples/interconnects/bulletproofingsysteminterf.php

It covers many of the basic problems concerning RF Interference. The author lives quite close to a HAM radio operator, so he's got some real world experience deal with RFI.
