SORRY...I posted this in the wrong forum. I have reposted in the USA Electrical Codes forum.

Hello and thanks for such a great site!!!

I am adding on to our home and want to relocate some of the outlets in our existing kitchen into our new kitchen. My question is...can I extend the wiring using a junction/splice box and, if so, can I cover up the junction boxes behind the sheetrock or do I have to leave the junction box exposed with a faceplate?

Thanks for the help,

G

You can not cover the boxes with drywall. The box must be accessible. Using a blank cover is OK.
