Good Morning! I have a Kenmore Microwave/Wall Oven Combo - model #790.47859403 - about 4 years old. This morning the microwave control panel display went out - time display/no buttons work & interior light is out. Checked the circuit breaker-turned off & on-no problems there. Oven display/controls work fine - no problem with the oven. Thoughts? Thank you in advance!

Jeff - Thank you so much for your quick reply! Can you "guess-timate" what I'm looking at for repairs if it's the problem you cited? Second question is - if it's a Frigidaire built Kenmore - should I (would you) call a Frigidaire repair-person? I'm asking this because I was quoted $129 strictly for the service call and I would like to save money - like everyone - if possible. Suggestions?
Thank you so much!

Unit must come out to access! Can one person pull it out, need two people, ect....Fuse only listed for $30.00, switch and second fuse listed for $20.00
I guess labour and service ( will vary area to area ) $125-$200

Either should be familier with the product.
Since it is a kenmore, might be better off with a Sears tech.

Thank you so much Jeff! I have Kenmore service scheduled for Tuesday - wish me luck! :-) I told my husband to think about the cost & appreciate each & everytime he reheats his coffee in the microwave! :shot:

Jeff - you were right on the money! :) The Kenmore service man just left - it was a fuse - (does have to be pulled out of the cabinet for service as you said!) service/parts/labor = $185.00
Until you gave me some advice, I was thinking it would be a lot worse - although $185 is a lot for a glorified coffee-warmer!
Thank you so much!
