When using a multiple gang plastic box if I double up the NM entering the box at the plastic 'flip lock' connectors, is it counted as 2 connectors or just 1 in the box calculation. Or put another way. if I had 4 NM's entering/exiting the box in 4 different holes it would be counted as 4; but if I double them up making 2 NM's in just 2 holes would it then be counted as 2 or 4 ?
Jack

It doesn't matter. If you have one clamp or ten, you account for them as 1 wire of the largest size in that box. Frankly, I never considered those plastic finger clamps as clamps, but perhaps I should.

Mark, Thanks. I think I either had a brain fart or it's the 'old-timers' starting to kick in. I say this because 'I knew that'! (and when I read your reply to the AC ? above, I went "DUH", I knew that too!)
(Single gang plastic/fibre box are exempt from the count.)
Maybe I should quit for the day because now am in middle of calc'ing some 3 & 4 gangs with combo #14 & #12 with 2 & 3 conductors with recps and 3 and 4 way SW's. LOL:D
