I will try to post a series of the Back Yard DIY projects i did this summer. My posts will be here and there due to military deployment. But ill try.
This is my empty canvas.

Had to tear down the fence around the exhisting patio and extend it to accomodate for the 20 foot decking boards.
2635
Yep Poured it all by hand. not sure why exactly. Good muscle builder for the boy
2626
See. now there is someplace to put the boards! LOL
2627
Now for the planning of the supports. i went the max i could span is about 9' from the ledger. and yes, that is a cooler full of beer. my asprin
2628
Working the frame. this was not easy due to an asthetic change in the level to accomodate for some crooked siding. what do you do? make a decision right?
2629
It all worked out. just about ready for decking
2630
Attaching the deck boards
2631
Close to done with that. total of approx 20 x 12
2632
Now you will see my struggle begin. Stair set up. things to contend with: slope in grade of the existing slab, separation and lift of existing slab...guess that is why they call it floating, slope in grade of the land in front of the deck and the fact that i wanted wrap around.
So, i modified each and every stringer to accompdate the differences in the stingers on the long part. that worked fine, but the difference in the land and the slab to round the corner took me a month to figure out. well, just because i didnt want to work on it out of frustration.
here is my trouble
2633
Cant fit any more pics on this one. look for a second part for the big finish. thanks folks. be kind. i am still new. i did the first part in 4 days. mostly by myself, but you see the little guy helping now and then when he was around...he's 14, always running.
