Is it me or is this fact? Every piece of newer power equipment I have used recently, rented or purchased that has a Briggs & Stratton engine is very difficult to start and requires monster arm strength to overcome the friction when pull starting. I'm talking about pressure washers, lawn mowers, gas saws. I have no problem with other makes of gas engines but the B & G's are real b--l busters!

Most of my work is on briggs engines and I never have your complaint. Make sure your flywheel brake is not staying engaged.

I have a 8 year ofl B&S 14.5 on a MTD tractor. Engine starts and runs fine for 3-4 minutes. It then starts to loose power and acts like it is running out of gas. I usually can keep it running with teh choke but its to rough, then dies. Will not start for about 10 minutes. Then the whole sequence repeats.
Tank has clean gas, replaced fuel filter, tightened all bolts, cleaner air cleaner.
Any ideas?
