We built an addition to our 100 year old home and I'm doing the wiring.
I'm not an electrician and have a problem with a 3-way connection feeding 3 lights.
incoming power, 12-2 (black/white/ground)
power to lights 12-3 (black/white/red/ground)
3-way switches on both ends

works just fine with only one light but as soon as I install the second light it does not switch correctly.

On (switch 1) off (switch 2) and reverse is fine.

If I switch off at #2 I can't switch on at switch 1. What am I doing wrong???

Thanks for any help - Dagmar

The second or third and more lights must be connected directly to the black and white wires of the first fixture wires inside that first fixture light box. YOu have no other way of adding multiple lights controlled by a three way switch system.

Good Luck
