I'm new on this forum so I could sure use some help. In our bathroom we have a "Holloywood Light" that has 8 bulbs over our sinks. I want to 86 it and put in two vanity lights over seperate mirrors, over the two sinks.
How do I go about this? I know I will have to take out the existing box for the hollywood light and drywall over the hole. Can I branch off of that wiring to go 2 seperate places on the same wall, but lower and to 2 different boxes?
Any help would sure be appreciated. I am pretty skillful in most home remodeling projects, but this one I'm new at.

Hopefully the cable is long enough to move to one of your new locations. If it is then move the cable to one of the new locations and run a new cable of the same size to the second location.
Connect the first fixture exactly the same as the old fixture. Connect the cable to the second fixture to the same two wires + ground the the first fixture is connected to.

Thanks for your help.....I have two more questions....first...what if the cable is not long enough? And secondly, what to I do if there are studs in the way with no access to the inside wall? I haven't looked yet, as I am in the planning stages, but I wanted to make sure before I start. Again..thanks for the feedback!

If the cable is not long enough then you have to adjust. You can not bury a splice inside a wall. If you have an attic above then you can pull cable up to the attic and make joint in a junction box up there. You could replace the entire cable back to the switch. You could put the light in a different spot.
If there are studs in the way you drill through them, cut the drywall if needed, Go up into attic and come back down where needed. If there is a medicine cabinet you should be able drill the studs above or below through the opening for the cabinet when the cabinet is removed.
