Frigidaire Washing Machine Trunnion stuck FWXB23RGS0

I am trying to fix a leak coming from the center seal of the outer tub. I have gotten just about everything off but i am stuck at the trunnion. It won't budge. Is it suppose to turn or just pull straight up? Here is a parts list of the washer in detail:

Removed the basket?
Spray the trunion center with WD40 or such and make sure the tranny shaft is cleaned up!

Is it suppose to turn or just pull straight up?

Straight up...but I'll often curse, twist, pull, tap with a hammer, curse some more, twist, ect until it comes off.

Yeah i got the inner basket off with much cursing and hammering/pulling. There is alot of residue in there. I sprayed some liquid wrench in there today and will let it sit overnight to try again tommorow. I even broke a hammer in half trying to get it loose!

You're right about that! I just had the same problem with my Frigidaire washer and the trunion wouldn't budge.

To get it out, I used two claw hammers... one each side with the claws underneath the trunion. Alternated from side to side a bit until it began to move then just pryed down with both at same time and up she came!

Wish I'd thought of it about an hour earlier... oh well... hope it helps somebody else...
