OLD to NEW

My Whirlpool washer model# LBR5232EQ1 is labeled "Heavy Duty-Extra Large Capacity". This washer is 12 yrs old. I want to know how this size compares to the new washers..ie..3.2 cu, 3.4 cu.,4.0 cu.

The Whirlpool LBR 5232EQ1 "Giant capacity" washer we now have has about 10 % smaller capacity than the Sears 3.2 cu ft (Whirlpool) unit we had before. I would say the 5232EQ1 has about 2.9 cu ft capacity if the capacity of our previous unit was really 3.2. The capacity descriptions of washers are obviously very misleading.
