Water Pump & Basement Reno

I currently have a water pump, which is connected to a rubber hose that goes through my foundation out to my drilled well.
I'm building a wall around this area and it would save me a lot of trouble if I remove the rubber hose from the water pump and attach it back once complete.
My question is, can I do this? Will there be a flow of water from this hose once I disconnect it?
Just want to avoid a getting wet :)

There will be some water drainage from the water that is in the pipe. There could be more depending on the water level in your well. Have a plug ready to jam into the pipe when you remove it. The plug could be a round wooden peg or a pipe with a cap on it.
