I have a GE SmartWater Heater, model GG40T6A, 40 gal, which I bought at Home Depot. I need to replace the burner unit. I removed it, called Home Depot prior to making the drive (I live rurally) and they don't carry them. Neither does Lowe's. The GE website doesn't recognize the model number, probably as it was made specifically for Home Depot. Any idea where one finds a replacement? Thank you.

I have never had to replace a main burner on a water heater before. Pilot assembly yes. Why do you have to replace it? Do you mean the pilot light, or the big burner? How old is this heater?
