I live in Florida and have a slab foundation. All the plumbing is buried in the slab. I want to take the existing Florida room and convert it into 4th BR with 3rd bath. Existing 2 baths are located on opposite ends of house with kitchen in the middle. My neighbor says that he added 3rd bath and found the drains originially were run from both ends of house to middle then out the front in the middle of the slab, like a 'Y' formation. He had to trench out the back corner of house, along the side, then 45 degreed to front/middle of front yard to connect to the county sewer located in the road. My question is, is their any way that a line can be bored under the slab to greatly reduce the footage to sewer hookup and save substancial dollars? Going rate for trenching and line is $20 per foot. I'm looking at 125 feet to trench but only 65 feet if it can be bored. Anyone can shed any light on this?
