Hello - I have a GE XL44 JGBP30WEA4WW. One of the electrodes is not sparking. I need to know how to replace the electrode and where I can buy a new electrode. :dontknow:

Thank you

Hi,

The cooktop must come of to acess the electrode. Has a push clip to hold the electrode to bracket and the wire just pulles off.

Spark electrode, top burner (http://www.repairclinic.com/referral.asp?R=153&N=244911)

Parts breakdown is here, should help with disassembly (http://www.searspartsdirect.com/partsdirect/retrieveModelActionHome!retrieve.action?pop=true&modelNumber=JGBP30WEA4WW&pop=flush)

Thanks, does the cooktop flip up? It seemed pretty tight when I was jacking around with it. Do you think maybe I have to access it from the underside? Where the Broiler burner is?

Thank you very much

does the cooktop flip up?

Once the grates, burners, screws are removed and the 2 puch clips between the cooktop and manifold cover at the front are pressed in....then the top will hinge/lift up.

Do you think maybe I have to access it from the underside? Where the Broiler burner is?

Nope.

Replacing the electrode didn't work... :bawling:

Seems no juice is coming from the wire to the electrode... I think I'll need to call somebody out...

Open wire, knicked/cut/pinched between the spark module and the electrode.
If no, possible bad spark module.
Try switching one of the output wires on the spark module to see if the problem moves to another burner.
