Can a bathroom (just a toilet) exhaust fan be vented into a dryer vent line with a whye (or the like). The juction would be right as the dryer line exits the building. Anyone know of any rules in this ?

Not sure if it is legal, and the answer may depend on if the dryer is gas -vs- electric. Even if its legal, I'd put a flapper valve out the output of each device (fan and dryer) to prevent blackflow. Also, you need to assess your pipe diameter for adequate flow. Each normally needs a 4" pipe. A 5" pipe has about the same area as two 4" pipes, so the common output should be at least a 5" pipe.

I wouldn't do it. As suemarkp, mentioned, if you don't have backflow dampers installed, the air leaving the dryer would just end up in the bathroom (and vice vera leaving less than fresh clothes in the dryer).

If the dryer's gas, it would not be allowed.

Edit: In Ontario, it's prohibited to share a dryer vent with any other exhaust vent:

6.2.3.8(7) Exhaust ducts connected to laundry drying equipment shall be, (a) independent of other exhaust ducts...

That is sorta what I figured, the dryer is electric so I'm not worried about the gases. The washer and dryer now share the same room as a toilet and vanity unit in place of a shower unit no one ever used (not ever in 11 years).
The original vent line terminates a couple of inches below a mushroom roof vent sitting on a roof ridge, the problem is this vent line is about 30 feet from where the dryer is now and to top it all off, it's a metal roof.

Terminating a vent like that in the attic is not proper. Not sure if it is against code but I suspect it is.

It isn't allowed, that's why I'm looking for a compliant solution for them.
