I'm looking at building a new house on a lake lot and there is not much yard left after the house is buildt. The code calls for a 600 square feet drainfield and a 600 square foot reserve area. This will all fit but I will have to angle my driveway for this to fit. I've been reading about these chamber drainfields and they say you can reduce your drainfield area by 25%. Live in Michigan and will have to find out if my health dept allows these. Whats your thoughts on these chamber systems? Are they as good as a regular drainfield or better? thanks

I think they're better mostly because they're gravelless, have more surface area in contact with the earth, and are large diameter. But they cost more so the total cost is about the same.
