I just replaced the pump in my tank for my mound system.
The tank has an electrical outlet through the upper concrete wall of the tank.
I noticed the plug of the old pump was awfully corroded and thought maybe the gasses in the tank had eaten away at the exposed metal.
What is the best way to power the pump in the tank?
I was wondering about removing the electrical outlet out of the tank and moving it above ground into a outdoor outlet box and then run conduit from the tank to the box and run the cord from the pump through the conduit and then plug the opening with putty to prevent the fumes from escaping?
What is the best way? It just doesn't seem right to have a outlet in the tank and a brass plug exposed to the gasses with out some sort of protection.
